A career theatre artist and arts educator Sybil St. Claire is a Lecturer of Theatre at the University of Central Florida’s Conservatory Theatre where she co-created and teaches in one of the nation's most distinctive Masters of Fine Arts in Theatre for Young Audiences. With degrees in Theatre Performance and Child Drama, Sybil is an award winning educator, a published author and an internationally produced playwright/lyricist who has been acting, directing, writing and teaching in the theatre for over 20 years.

Her original plays for young audiences and young actors, Woolfie and Incantation have enjoyed over 100 productions in 33 different states and in Canada, Europe, and Central America. Her most recent work may be found in Audition Monologues for Student Actors, Volume II

Sybil served as the Founding Artistic Director of All Children's Theatre in Gainesville, Florida for 17 years and as the Artistic Director of The Orlando Repertory Theatre, a professional theatre for young audiences. In addition, she has worked with terminally ill pediatric patients as part of Arts in Medicine at Shands Hospital/University of Florida, with foster children in the State of Florida's Guardian Ad Litem Program, with hearing impaired youth in theatre for the deaf, and as an Actor Training Consultant to Walt Disney World Entertainment.

 

Sybil's film credits include work with The New York Film Academy, the movie, Karaoke King, Academy Award nominee Bill Suchy, Emmy Award winner Charles St. Clair, and Nickelodeon Studios. An oft-invited speaker and hands-on educator, Sybil has presented and taught at international venues such as the Hawaii International Conference on Arts and Humanities and Theatre of Changes in Athens, Greece. Her enthusiastic style and presentation make her a favorite at seminars, workshops and conferences.

A member of the International Center for Women Playwrights, The International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People, The Society for Stage Directors and Choreographers, and Women in Film, Sybil continues to dedicate her time, talent and energies towards helping others to live their best life.
